Conversational hypnosis: hypnosis technique in reality

If you search for conversational hypnosis on search engines or video sites, you will find a lot of content on quick inductions, mind control, or the comic exploitation of hypnotized subjects. In addition, you will probably also discover a lot of information about how you can control people and make them do what you want.

Of course, the Internet is an immediate medium. If you don't grab someone's attention in the first few seconds, their attention disappears and they click off the page. For this reason, I fully understand why so much information about conversational hypnosis is so sensational. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying you can't use conversational hypnosis to genuinely control someone else's behavior. It just is.

However, I am concerned that the promotional emphasis of much of this information on hypnosis gives a set of misleading expectations to those interested in studying hypnosis techniques. This is particularly true when talking about conversational hypnosis. Let me explain why.

Most other forms of hypnosis and hypnotic induction are designed to be open. That is, the hypnotized person is fully aware of the process and has, in fact, agreed to participate in hypnosis. For example, the stage hypnotist selects subjects and each and every one of them knows what to expect (more or less). Similarly, if someone goes to a hypnotherapist, they know they are going to be hypnotized and, in fact, they really want this to happen. Conversational hypnosis is a completely different how to hypnotize someone.

For example, in conversational hypnosis, the point is that the hypnotized person does not know what is happening. This is why conversational hypnosis is so powerful and why many people are suspicious of it. Often referred to as covert hypnosis, the fact that the hypnotized person is unaware of the process means that they are much more likely to adopt the hypnotist's suggestions as their own thoughts. This makes conversational hypnosis an extremely effective hypnotic technique. Therefore, it is particularly useful in helping people adopt better coping mechanisms that help them address problem behavior. This is why conversational hypnosis, disguised as Ericksonian hypnosis, is the method of choice for many successful hypnotherapists.

One of the other great advantages of conversational hypnosis is that you can use it anywhere. For example, since you can use it as part of a seemingly normal conversation, you can use it in a bar or at work or in any social situation where you interact with other people. Therefore, another important element of conversational hypnosis is that others do not notice it. If you choose to use conversational hypnosis as part of your seduction technique, the last thing you need to do is start acting like some kind of theatrical hypnotist with obvious signs that you are trying to hypnotize someone. Of course, watching a video of two people chatting, getting along, and then amicably parting is not a fascinating thing and would not attract attention on the internet at all.
