How to use self-hypnosis to achieve your goals

Self-hypnosis can be used to change many things in your life. You can use self-hypnosis to eliminate negative emotions associated with bad memories. You can use self-hypnosis to remove negative beliefs and create new ones, and you can also use self-hypnosis to achieve goals! So if self-hypnosis is so powerful, how come some people don't get results from it?

Well the simple answer is that they are not using self-hypnosis correctly.

To get the most out of any self-hypnosis session, you need to know why you are using it. You must have an intention before trying self-hypnosis or the only thing you will get from it is deep relaxation. Set a self-hypnosis goal!

This self-hypnosis goal should be concise and precise. By writing your statement of intent, you solidify the idea of what you want in your mind and give your subconscious mind something to work towards. You create a self-hypnosis goal!

Make sure you don't include what you don't want in any self-hypnosis program. Make your self hypnosis goal positive and affirmative of success. For example, saying something like "I'm not overweight anymore" or "I don't have any unpaid bills anymore" is not the way you should write your self-hypnosis goal. When you focus on not being overweight, your mind creates an image of being overweight. When you think about not having unpaid bills, you must first think about unpaid bills. This is true of anything in life, but it becomes extremely important in self-hypnosis!

The mind works with images! To illustrate this point, I would like you to think about your kitchen. Where is the pot? Do you have a fridge? What color is? Does the door open to the left or to the right?

Do you see that to answer these questions you must evoke a visual memory of your home?

Therefore, you should create a written statement that only includes the things you want to have and should not focus, in any way, on the things that you no longer want to experience. Examples of using positive statements would be "I reach my ideal weight easily" rather than "I am no longer overweight."

Following this advice will ensure that the only image that forms your mind is positive. During self-hypnosis, when you remember these images, you are instructing your subconscious mind to help you create conversational hypnosis.

Now that you have your written statement outlining what you want from your self hypnosis sessions, you can be more specific. By creating a specific and detailed image of what you want, you can reprogram your mind using it during a self-hypnosis session.

Now, read the statement you created and become aware of the images you are seeing in your mind. Make them bigger, brighter and more emotional. Alter the mental scene until it is exactly how you would like it to be in reality. Keep changing it until it makes you feel really good.

The written statement and mental image along with positive emotions become the blueprint for success that you will program in your mind during self-hypnosis.

There are a multitude of great self-hypnosis recordings available for specific needs (and a multitude of bad ones too) and once you have your intentions, it should be pretty easy to find one that suits your needs. However, if you decide to try self-hypnosis without the help of a recording, you can follow the self-hypnosis script below. Just keep practicing your self-hypnosis every day until you reach your goal.

Self hypnosis script:

Before beginning your self-hypnosis session, position yourself comfortably, either sitting or lying down. Make sure they don't disturb you.

To begin the self-hypnosis session, look at a point on the wall or ceiling that is just above eye level. Make sure to keep your head straight so that you have to lift your eyes.

Now tense your toes for several seconds and then release the tension by allowing them to relax. This allows you to tell the difference between tension and relaxation. Next, tighten the lower legs and release, then the upper legs and release. Do this for all muscle groups in your body until you have relaxed your face and scalp.

After just a few moments, due to the strain on your eyes, they will start to feel tired and you will be able to close them. This is part of the induction of self-hypnosis. In your mind, count down from ten to one while taking a deep breath. Then imagine there is a steep ladder in front of you and go down it into the dark. Now count down from five to one.
